Friday Juniors Competition
[8-11 year olds]
Venue: Mills Park Tennis Centre
Time: 4pm-5:30pm.
Registration: Players are registered as individuals Once registered, players will become members of Superb Tennis for the membership year.
Standard: Children are assessed to be able to start a point [Serve], move to the ball & strike the ball returned to them [Rally], whilst attempting to direct the ball away from their opponent. [Score]
We are happy help new players assess their "level" before rego. [Contact Tim]
Rounds: Only held during public school term dates. Please refer to your draw.
Format: Children are paired with different opponents & partners each week based on competence & availability each week.
Courts & equipment are modified to encourage & facilitate match play rally & ball/shot control. Children exceeding the assessment criteria may be offered an opportunity to compete in the Cadet Competition from 5:30pm by invitation of the Comp Manager.
players aim to complete 1 set of singles and one set of doubles per week[short deuce, tie break 5 all]. Games won are tabled over the competition with awards for winners, most improved & best & fairest. Children are encouraged to develop their knowledge & skills during the weekly games on:
- rules,
- order of play,
- ettiqutte &
- line calling
Support & supervision provided by paid staff.
Attendance: Parents are encouraged to use their online login to notifty the comp manager of a childs absence. Click on the calendar tab in your login and select the event. An option in red to cancel the session will be offered. A role is taken prior to play and at the completion of play. ALL
CHILDREN MUST BE SIGNED OUT BY A PARENT BEFORE LEAVING SITE. EXCEPTIONS ARE ONLY PERMITTED WITH PRIOR NOTICE.

Extreme Weather: Comp Manager will update the Weather News Page by 6:15pm on the day of the round of the rounds' status. [Where the round is unplayable, a credit will be applied to the account of the two registered players. The round will not be re-scheduled]
Playing Surface: All matches will be played on our OmniPro 17 synthetic grass courts. These court surface was selected for performance & durability in suitable conditions. Please be aware that "rain" [at the venue or locations "close to Superb Tennis"] may not prevent competitive play from proceeding. The decisions made by our competition managers are based on the available information and experience at the venues. We strive to make informed decisions in the best interests of our members. DON'T ASSUME BECAUSE IT'S RAINING, COMP IS OFF.
Friday Cadets Competition
[11-16 year olds]
Venue: Mills Park Tennis Centre

Registration: Players are registered as individuals Once registered, players will become members of Superb Tennis for the membership year.
Standard: Cadets are assessed on their age grouping, competence & intent. The competition is designed to introduce competitive tennis play to the players. We are happy help new players assess their "level" before rego. [Contact Tim]

Format: Cadets are paired with different opponents & partners each week based on competence & availability each week.
Children exceeding the assessment criteria may be offered an opportunity to compete in the Adult Competitions & or tournaments by invitation of the Comp Manager.
